El 21 de Febrero se Realizará el Sorteo de Equipos de la Copa América Centenario 2016
La Confederación de Norte, Centroamérica y la Asociación de Fútbol del Caribe (CONCACAF), la Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CONMEBOL) y el Comité Organizador Local (LOC) anunciaron el 19 de enero que el sorteo oficial de la Copa América Centenario 2016 será el domingo, 21 de febrero a las 7:30 PM ET, en el famoso Hammerstein Ballroom, de la Ciudad de Nueva York.
La Copa América Centenario, un evento único y el cual celebrará los 100 años de la Copa América, contará con la participación de algunos de los mejores equipos y jugadores del mundo y ambas regiones, entre ellos Messi, Neymar, David Luiz, James Rodríguez, Kaká, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey y muchos más, del 3 al 26 de junio de 2016. La final se jugará en el MetLife Stadium, del área metropolitana de Nueva York, el 26 de junio.
El evento de gala contará con la participación de estrellas del mundo del futbol de todo el hemisferio. En el sorteo, los cuatro grupos encabezados por Estados Unidos -- el anfitrión --, Argentina, Brasil y México serán completados con las 12 selecciones nacionales restantes, así completando el calendario de partidos. Las posiciones de los equipos para el sorteo serán determinadas usando el Ranking de la FIFA de diciembre de 2015. Los detalles de los grupos y los procedimientos para el sorteo se darán a conocer en los días previos al evento.
The Copa America Centenario Local Organizing Committee (LOC) announced today that the 2016 Copa America Centenario Draw will take place on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET, at the famed Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
The Draw, which will finalize all four groups headed by host United States, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, will be televised live on Univision in the United States.

The Copa America Centenario, a once-in-a-lifetime soccer summer event, which honors 100 years of the Copa America tournament, will feature some of the world’s best teams and players competing from June 3-26, 2016, across the United States. The tournament will feature the top star players from both regions, including Orlando City SC midfielder Kaká, Lionel Messi, Neymar, David Luiz, James Rodriguez, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey and many more.
Orlando City SC, the Central Florida Sports Commission, City of Orlando and Orange County Government worked in partnership to bring the prestigious Latin American championship to the Orlando Citrus Bowl, and to Central Florida, for the first time in its history. In addition, partnerships with Florida Citrus Sports, tourism leaders and the local business community were integral in securing the event.
Five-time FIFA World Cup Champion Brazil is scheduled to stop in Central Florida on June 8 – with the Orlando Citrus Bowl set to host three group-stage matches in the 16-nation tourney on June 4, 6 and 8.
This year’s Copa America – the centennial edition of the tournament - marks the first time this premier event has been staged outside of South America.
